Clark, NJ

History

Clark, New Jersey, has a rich history that dates back to the 17th century when it was originally inhabited by the Lenape Native Americans. European settlers arrived in the 1700s, establishing farms and a small community. The area was named after the Clark family, prominent landowners in the 19th century. During the American Revolutionary War, Clark was part of significant troop movements. The town grew with the arrival of the railroad in the late 1800s, attracting residents and businesses.
